Part III – Horizon (Open Discussion: Festivals and Travel Destinations)
The third and final installment of our Cross-Cultural Exchange Project culminated in a vibrant exploration of heritage, travel, and tradition. Centered on the iconic festivals and breathtaking destinations of Japan and the Philippines, this closing session brought together three first-year Nursing students from IMC and eight second-year Development Communication students from CSPC. The event, held on February 13, 2026, served as the definitive bridge between two cultures.
Creativity in Motion
Moving beyond standard academic structures, this session was designed as a sophisticated yet relaxed "sit-down" presentation and interview format. Each group was tasked with curating a tourism showcase, acting as cultural ambassadors for their respective home countries. This platform was intentionally crafted to:
- Elevate Self-Expression: Encouraging students to find their unique voice.
- Refine English Proficiency: Providing a real-world environment to practice communication skills.
- Showcase Creative Agency: Allowing students to design narratives that best represent their national identity.
Engagement Beyond the Script
The true heart of the session lay in the interactive Q&A that followed the presentations. This was not merely a formal inquiry period but a "safe space" where curiosity reigned. Participants moved past prepared notes to engage in authentic dialogue—feeding their curiosity about life abroad while proudly sharing the nuances of their own homes.
As questions were exchanged, the atmosphere shifted into a delightful blend of lightheartedness and intellectual excitement. This direct interaction bridged the gap between "knowing about" a culture and "understanding" its people.
The Final Destination: A Lasting Bond
The conclusion of this journey sparked a profound realization: while the trip was virtual, the connections forged were undeniably real. The session acted as a catalyst for global curiosity, fueling a desire in every student to look beyond their own borders.
Ultimately, this project did more than just educate; it shortened the distance between Japan and the Philippines, transforming a simple classroom exchange into a special bond of friendship and mutual respect.

国際交流の締めくくりとなる第3回目は、伝統、旅行、そして遺産を巡る活気あふれる探究の場となりました。日本とフィリピンの象徴的な祭りや息をのむような絶景スポットに焦点を当てたこの最終セッションには、IMCの看護学科1年生3名と、CSPCの開発コミュニケーション学科2年生8名が集結しました。2026年2月13日に開催されたこのイベントは、両文化を繋ぐ決定的な架け橋となりました。
動き出す創造性
このセッションは、標準的な学習形式を超え、洗練されつつもリラックスした「座談会」形式のプレゼンテーションとインタビューでした。各グループは観光ショーケースの企画を任され、それぞれの母国の文化大使として活動しました。このプラットフォームは、以下の目的のために意図的に構築されました。
- 自己表現の向上： 学生が自分自身の独自の「声」を見つけることを促す。
- 英語能力の洗練： 実践的な環境でコミュニケーションスキルを磨く場を提供する。
- 創造的主体性の発揮： 国家のアイデンティティを最もよく表すナラティブ（語り）を学生自らデザインする。
台本を超えた交流
このセッションの真の核心は、プレゼンテーションの後に行われたインタラクティブな質疑応答にありました。それは単なる形式的な質問の時間ではなく、好奇心が主役となる「セーフ・スペース（安心できる場）」でした。参加者は用意されたメモを置き、海外の生活に対する好奇心を満たしながら、自分たちの故郷の細かなニュアンスを誇りを持って共有するという、本物の対話に没頭しました。
質問が交わされるにつれ、会場の雰囲気は軽やかさと知的な興奮が入り混じった心地よいものへと変化していきました。この直接的な交流は、ある文化を「知っている」状態から、その人々を「理解している」状態へと、その溝を埋める役割を果たしました。
最終目的地：永続的な絆
この旅の締めくくりは、深い気づきをもたらしました。それは、「旅そのものはバーチャルであったが、築かれた繋がりは紛れもなく本物である」ということです。このセッションは、学生たちのグローバルな好奇心に火をつけ、国境を越えて目を向ける意欲を呼び起こす触媒となりました。
最終的に、このプロジェクトは単なる教育以上の成果を上げました。日本とフィリピンの距離を縮め、単なる教室での交流を、友情と相互尊重という特別な絆へと昇華させたのです。
